Description for Protein RAPGEF2

Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) 2
11 total interacting proteins; 9 platelet interacting proteins
Icon Book Platelet Evidence (proteome studies/others : 1/1)
(phosphoproteome: 1; undefined: 1)
Summary:
Members of the RAS (see HRAS; MIM 190020) subfamily of GTPases function in signal transduction as GTP/GDP-regulated switches that cycle between inactive GDP- and active GTP-bound states. Guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), such as RAPGEF2, serve as RAS activators by promoting acquisition of GTP to maintain the active GTP-bound state and are the key link between cell surface receptors and RAS activation (Rebhun et al., 2000 [PubMed 10934204]).[supplied by OMIM] (PubMed Links)
Domains and Motifs:
  • CNMP: Cyclic nucleotide-monophosphate binding domain
  • RasGEFN: Guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Ras-like GTPases
  • N-terminal motif
  • PDZ: Domain present in PSD-95, Dlg, and ZO-1/2.
  • RA: Ras association (RalGDS/AF-6) domain
  • RasGEF: Guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Ras-like small GTPases
