Description for Protein MVD

mevalonate (diphospho) decarboxylase
6 total interacting proteins; 4 platelet interacting proteins
Icon Book Platelet Evidence (proteome studies/others : 1/0)
(platelet: 2)
Summary:
The enzyme mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate in one of the early steps in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP. [provided by RefSeq] (PubMed Links)
