Description for Protein IQGAP2

IQ motif containing GTPase activating protein 2
10 total interacting proteins; 8 platelet interacting proteins
Icon Book Platelet Evidence (proteome studies/others : 10/3)
(membrane: 2; microparticles: 1; platelet: 12; secretome: 2; undefined: 2)
Summary:
This gene encodes a member of the IQGAP family. The protein contains three IQ domains, one calponin homology domain, one Ras-GAP domain and one WW domain. It interacts with components of the cytoskeleton, with cell adhesion molecules, and with several signaling molecules to regulate cell morphology and motility. [provided by RefSeq] (PubMed Links)
Domains and Motifs:
  • CC: Coiled Coil
  • CH: Calponin homology domain
  • WW: Domain with 2 conserved Trp (W) residues
  • IQ: Short calmodulin-binding motif containing conserved Ile and Gln residues.
  • RASGAP: GTPase-activator protein for Ras-like GTPases
